The best rental car company I dealt with so far. Well organized and family owned, they offer a customized service at a great price. We had a breakdown with the car and it took them less than 10 hours to provide a new car. They are very professional and they really care for their customers.

I couldn't have been more happy with this company and with the 4WD car we rented for a week-long road trip. The car was in excellent condition and came with just about all the camping equipment we needed, so it was nice to have minimal things to pack to take on the plane. Over the week the tie-down strap and one of the camping chairs got damaged, but we were not charged as these were considered general wear and tear. I would highly recommend to anyone thinking about car-camping around Alice Springs.

Very helpful, good staff. No nonsense rental and down to earth. It is always good to support local companies rather than the large multi corporates. Otherwise there will be no other choices. Rental rates and km allowances are more reasonable than the larger well known brands. Good quality late model vehicles and well maintained. Made our holiday rental hassle free. Recommended and will use again. Thanks

Vehicle provided for travel on the Tanami Rd was clean, reliable, comfortable & good value for money. The team at Central Car Rentals were very friendly and provided exceptional service. I would rate CCR far above any competitor when looking for a car rental - especially 4WD.

Lovely staff, excellent cars and friendly personal service. The car we were given for our red centre camping trip was a brand new landcruiser that worked very well, no issues with pickup or returns. We took the car offroad into places that we were allowed to, as we were camping, and worked a dream. We also rented a table and chairs, which was very used but also in absolutely fine working order. Everything was ready when we turned up, and we even had a complimentary pickup at the airport! Thank you for a great experience!

As per most other reviews on here. Good service by friendly staff. Clean, reliable car that had no issues with getting down to Uluru and then some minor off roading on the trip back. Did their camping hire package and didn't feel like we needed anything extra in terms of supplies. Very smooth all around.

Rented a 4wd for our red centre way road trip and we were provided with a very clean and reliable car! Totally no issue over the 6 days of driving over long distances and several off roads. We were also greeted by very friendly and patient staffs. Rented camping equipments as well, everything in tip top condition! Would totally recommend!

The 4WD was clean and worked super well, the staff (who are locals) was friendly, relaxed and gave us some really good info, refunding us our bond straight away. The camping gear the car was also better than we could expect! Very happy with this rental company compared to the mainstream ones. Good job guys

Terrible experience. We booked Toyota Landcruiser for 10 days several months in advance. Very hefty price - but we expected something special and valuable for it. But we got some old, horrible, extremely noisy and shaky wreck instead that felt like falling apart on every road bump. Really suffering to drive it. Extreme fuel consumption. Old tyres quite after their life span (one naturally broke and they asked us to pay fully for it !!). We paid extra for jerry cans, where the pipe was so bad that it was not possible to pour the diesel inside the car. The camping equipment we paid for was also some scratched old junk.Really awful. Instead of considering all that, apologising and maybe giving some bonus (after already paying the whopping price) they still mercilessly charged us extra for the things that we had no control over. Extremely unfriendly and greedy stuff.We deeply regret we did not rent a normal, modern , civilised 4WD car from some other serious company (paying much less and getting much more). Big mistake that partly spoilt our 10 days adventure in Northern Territory.The worst car rental experience ever. If you go to Alice Springs and want to rent a car, avoid this place !

Cannot speak highly enough of this Alice Springs car hire business. We originally looked at the big national companies but saved ourselves quite a lot going with these guys. Also, they made us feel like we really mattered. They are extremely prompt to answer any questions / emails and nothing was too much bother.
